Waking up to another cloudy, rainy day...but it's okay!!! It's a sure sign that spring is coming! Finally! Like me, I'm sure you're all VERY excited about the prospect of getting back outside and enjoying the sun, the warmth and everything else spring has to offer :)
Since we'll all be enjoying the great outdoors before we know it, #YOURelectricalcontractor wants to remind you that it's just as important to stay safe when using electricity outdoors as it is indoors. One of the things you can do to stay safe is to ensure that when you're doing those outdoor home improvements requiring electricity, you're using an extension cord that is rated for outdoor use. Also, make sure that you check that extension cord for frays, cracks and any other damage it may have incurred being stored in your garage or shed over the winter.
Properly rated and in good condition, an extension cord is a fine solution for a temporary outdoor project. If you find though that you need an extension cord running permanently for an outdoor item or project, please ensure your hire a Licensed Electrical Contractor to install a properly protected, permanent outdoor solution, such as a GFCI receptacle. #YOURelectricalcontractor would be happy to discuss all of your outdoor options with you!
'Til next time, here's to SPRING!!! :D
